Our asset managers are skilled in underwriting, negotiation, disposition, and property management.

Mark A. Flynt, Vice President/Portfolio Manager

Mr. Flynt oversees the firm’s public and private partnership opportunity and value-added style investment programs. Mr. Flynt has been in the commercial real estate industry since 1978 in a wide variety of senior level management roles, including project leasing, property management, tenant representation, asset management, and investment property acquisition and disposition. Throughout his career, Mr. Flynt has been actively involved in the oversight of 45 million square feet of office, retail, and industrial properties throughout the United States. He has successfully negotiated hundreds of leases up to 200,000 square feet, building sales up to $65,000,000 in value and has overseen building renovations up to $30,000,000 in construction cost. Mr. Flynt received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in real estate from Southern Methodist University, holds the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management, is a Texas Real Estate Commission accredited MCE instructor and is also a licensed real estate broker in the state of Texas.

Albert J. Palamara, Vice President/Portfolio Manager

Mr. Palamara is the vice president and portfolio manager of Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT II, Inc. Prior to joining the company in 2007, Mr. Palamara was senior vice president of Lexington Realty Trust, one of the largest publicly traded REITS in the United States that specializes in single-tenant, net leased properties. In this role, he oversaw asset management for approximately $1 billion of office and industrial assets. In addition, Mr. Palamara helped the company open its Dallas office in May 2005.

From 2004 until 2005, Mr. Palamara was the chief operating officer for Holt Lunsford Commercial, one of Dallas' largest management and leasing companies. For seven years prior to that, Mr. Palamara was senior asset manager at INVESCO Real Estate, a pension fund advisor. He began his real estate career with LaSalle Partners (now Jones Lang LaSalle) in 1987 and spent 10 years with its management services group specializing in property management, leasing, and redeveloping office properties.  Mr. Palamara holds a Master of Business degree and Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University.

Ross P. Odland, Vice President/Portfolio Manager

Ross P. Odland is the vice president-portfolio management of our advisor. Mr. Odland is responsible for developing investment strategies, sourcing, developing and managing joint venture partnerships, and leading the asset management group for the multifamily group. From 2000 to 2007, Mr. Odland was vice president of portfolio management at AMLI Residential Properties Trust, formerly a New York Stock Exchange listed REIT, where he managed the company's joint venture relationships and performed portfolio and asset management duties for the company's southwest region, valued in excess of $1.1 billion. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Odland was a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Real Estate Advisory Group. In this role, Mr. Odland performed valuation, market research, and due diligence activities for publicly traded REITs and institutional real estate funds.

Mr. Odland holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Odland is a chartered financial analyst (CFA), a member of the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth, and a member of the Pension Real Estate Association.

Joseph A. Martin, Asset Manager

Joseph A. Martin is an asset manager of Behringer Harvard Multifamily REIT I, Inc. Prior to joining Behringer Harvard in 2008, Mr. Martin was vice president of portfolio management at Equity Residential, the largest publicly-traded multifamily REIT in the United States. In this role, he oversaw a portfolio that averaged 80 assets with a market capitalization of more than $2 billion. 

Mr. Martin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.
